Opening a children’s saving account is one of most important things a parent can do – and opening a children’s saving account with the credit union can not only contribute to a child’s future, but teaches them important planning, budgeting and money management skills – giving them vital building blocks needed throughout their lives.

To Open A Junior Saver Account (Under 16) The Following Is Required:

  • Child’s original birth certificate or passport.
  • Child’s PPS number. This must be presented on official documentation. This is normally issued by the Dept. of Social & Family Affairs.
  • Photo ID and proof of address (as per above) of the Parent or Guardian who is opening the account on the child’s behalf.
  • Membership fee of €1 to open an account with Clonakilty & Dunmanway Credit Union.
  • Minimum lodgement of €10.00.
  • Children under 16 do not have access to our Online Banking /App facility.
  • Maximum Shares €10,000.
